Jermaine Rogers New Prints Available Friday

-GENE WEEN (Chicago)-
This screen print measures approx. 32 x 22 inches and is printed on cream gallery stock. Personally commissioned by Gene Ween, this print promotes his recent solo performance at Lincoln Hall in Chicago, Il. The show version of the print (printed on white stock) was a hit at the show, with all copies selling out. The imagery is an updated twist of one of Jermaine's most recognized images, 'We Carry Each Other', which depicted two of bunny rabbits in an intimate embrace. That 'bunny' design was not only used by the band Deftones in a poster for their Philadelphia and Boston shows, but was also released as a much sought-after art print. This new design substitutes another of Jermaine's highly recognized creations, The DERO, in the same intimate embrace...though a bit more disturbing. Of the imagery, Jermaine says, 'These 'Carry' images, both the one with the bunnies from years ago and this new one with the DERO bears, convey a certain intimacy between two characters that, in each case, I'd always depicted alone. I first used the DERO bear on a prominent concert poster/flyer back in 1995. It was a flyer for a KMFDM show. Since then, the DERO bear has become quite known in the 'rock art' world, and I've used them on various prints for various bands...as well as creating a vinyl toy line based on these beings. Individually, these characters were always a bit disturbing... and depicting them as a single, solitary threat was enough to convey this. To actually depict TWO of them involved in an embrace gave them a warmth that was non-existent in my previous works featuring them. I like the idea that everything is co-dependent... no matter how threatening it is on its own. Everything, on some level, needs something else. We all carry something, or someone else.'

This print is in an extremely limited edition of only 50 signed and numbered pieces.

$50.00 USD plus shipping/insurance.

This print goes on sale at JermaineRogers.com on Friday, Feb. 19th at 3:00PM EASTERN TIME (12:00 NOON PACIFIC TIME).

-WEEN (Eureka)-This screen print measures approx. 31.5 x 23 inches and is printed on white gallery stock. Personally commissioned by the band WEEN, this print promotes their recent performance in Eureka, California. The prints were a hit at the show, with all copies selling out. This print has been long-awaited by Ween poster fans, and now after several months of waiting (and Jermaine traveling,) the print will be released. The imagery also completes Jermaine's 'Seasons' series: a group of 4 prints promoting 4 selected Ween shows... which depicted Jermaine's 'nature children' in different seasonal settings. The prints were also released in 'art print' versions, sans the show text and info. This print depicts 'Winter', and is a beautiful 7-color screen print, including a seamless ink fade (The 'Winter' art print will go on sale at a future date.)

This print is in an extremely limited edition of only 100 signed and numbered pieces.

$50.00 USD plus shipping/insurance.

-AFRO-PUNK 'Malcolm' (Artist Proof)-This 7-color screen print measures approx. 18.5 x 25.5 inches and is printed on white gallery stock. Created for last years AFRO-PUNK Festival in Brooklyn, NYC, this imagery re-imagines Malcolm X as a 'punk'. In reality, he was as punk-rock as one could be. The print was part of a trio of prints depicting 3 African American personalities (Malcolm X, Jimi Hendrix & Spike Lee) as stereo-typical 'punk rockers'. As Afro-Punk spokesman Matthew Morgan said, 'The idea of using these images is in response to the "What Is Afro-punk?" question. Afro-punk is not as literal as 'Black punk rockers'. It's a mind set, not defined by the clothes we wear or the hair style we rock. The images depicted are of the mind set. Using OUR reference instead of the typical perspective of what is punk rock.' The prints are Jermaine's visual interpretation of this ethic and its community, of which he himself is an active member.

From a limited edition of only 25 signed and numbered ARTIST PROOFS.

$40.00 USD plus shipping/insurance.

This print goes on sale at JermaineRogers.com on Friday, Feb. 19th at 3:00PM EASTERN TIME (12:00 NOON PACIFIC TIME).

-AFRO-PUNK 'Spike' (Artist Proof)-This 7-color screen print measures approx. 18.5 x 25.5 inches and is printed on white gallery stock. Created for last year's AFRO-PUNK Festival in Brooklyn, NYC, this imagery re-imagines Spike Lee as a punk. The renegade independent film maker has truly been a personification of the 'punk' ethic with his revolutionary style of film-making.

From a limited edition of only 25 signed and numbered ARTIST PROOFS.

$40.00 USD plus shipping/insurance.

The Editors at the Warfield by Chuck Sperry

The Editors, Antlers and The Dig put on a great show. Enjoyed thoroughly!
-
When I began to meditate on the idea of an Editors poster I began by thinking of all the writer friends I have out there thrashing out ideas against the background of the cold infinite and warm divine. I was tweaked on the ass by the good old Existentialist Albert Camus and his edict that “the absurd is the essential concept and the first truth.” So I poured out this design in heavy metallic blue and metallic red with a deep blue tint. Against a backdrop of the depths of space, the ever present modularity of the keyboard of modern reality.

Declaration II by Saber

"That any form of government of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and institute a new world…. All Rights

The Declaration Of Independence was written in a time when men wore wigs and fought with muskets. The phrase in my print implies that people have the right to revolution and positive change in pursuit of their happiness. I don’t see blood spilling into the streets, the revolution I see is in the hearts and minds.

First things first, when you go to the site on  Saturday Feb. 6th at 11 AM PST,
make sure you login first before adding any posters to your cart.
If you login in first, this guarantees that whatever posters you add to
your cart will remain there until you check out or remove them. That
means once they are in your cart, they will stay there even if you don't
checkout that day.

So, make sure you LOGIN FIRST before you do anything on the site on
sale days.

On sale days, the site is closed until the specified time of the sale, meaning
no one will be able to enter the site until that time... you will just see
the logo and not be able to enter the site.

SGT Hicks R&R by Huck Gee

Huck has finally finished the next print in his Colonial Life series, and it’s quite huge… theUTCMC Sgt Hicks R&R print. Hicks is getting in quite late (or is that early?) to his lakeside retreat. Salvaged from a downed Nrezatarian Class Cruiser, we think he’s cleaned the place up quite nicely. Each is printed on fine art watercolor paper (225gs), 24″x12″ (26″x14″), signed, and gold embossed in the top left corner with the print #. Limited edition run of 99 prints, $75per print.
Now here’s the details…
While our current store is stable enough to handle day to day sales, it will not handle the masses all trying to buy this print at the same time (which has been proven several times now, unfortunately). We are currently building a new store but we haven’t had time to put it into service. So, any and all interested in purchasing this print, please email sales@huckgee.comand be sure to include your Paypal address, your shipping address and a list of what merchandise you would like to purchase (if more than just the print) and we will send you a sales invoice ASAP. First come, first served.
